So imagine a hexagon. At each of its vertices is one of the symbological elements -- light, earth, water, darkness, wind, and fire. In their natural states, they coexist and interact just as you would expect them to in Luceti without any sort of outside manipulation. But add Symbology to the mix and matter or energy can take on a "supernatural" state that we call symbological or heraldic force. That's why it's not uncommon for Symbology to be called magic, and the arts used with them spells.
