Appointments Post ( II )

This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Haruhi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

She's a mecha, right? What if we- [And she pulls a pen out of her pocket to- wait] Can I draw on this?

[She nods once, sure as can be.]

Of course! Lemme see what you wanna do.

Okay! So basically, we need to get rid of this skirt and possibly drop the Sailor thing entirely- [And she draws on some robotic legs over it, and begins to draw a helmet]

Waaa! Do we have to drop Sailor stuff?

[She frowns, looking down.]

I wanted to have more of us, so me and Sailor Cicada could have more teammates..!

I just don't think it suits her! I mean, she needs to be a team with Ed more than with you, me, and Cicada, right?

[She can still be a Sailor. It sounds fun]

Weeeell..... I guess. If they gotta be a team...

[There is a very distinct but short pause before]

Red stringed and everything, I'd say.

... Red stringed?

[Que?]

It's an old legend where I'm from. [And traditionally, she's hated it. She chafes at it, actually, but she brushes the picture before turning to Elicia and then going into Explain Mode] Basically, that when people are born, right then there's an invisible red string of destiny which connects two people meant to meet. And that thread might tangle, or it might get knots in it or it might even stretch such that it's very hard for them to meet, but that thread can't be cut.

Wow.... That's really cool...

Do only people who fall in love have them... ? Can everyone have red strings with people?

If you were to ask me, if something stupid like this did exist... then everyone would have one, and have one partner in their lives. That partner doesn't have to be someone you fall in love with of course. Maybe someone you just know you can depend on, and who will... always be there.

[She bites her lip. All these years later, and the image which still comes into her head is... she dismisses it by shaking her head]

And of course, not everyone who falls in love has this going for them. Sometimes the romances can work out anyway. Sometimes they can't.

Oh... I guess it'd be bad for everyone to have lots of red strings. We'd all get tangled up, and then it'd be hard to move...

I'll say. It's silly enough when two strings get tangled up among four people.

Huh...

But how do you untangle something that bad?

You need to dance around, I guess... [She tuts, and then goes to turn the paper over and start drawing some tangled lines. Absently]

I dunno... That sounds like it might make it worse.

Can we make up a friend line? Maybe they can be magical gold lines.

Hey, hey, give friendship a better chance! [And she ruffles Elicia's hair, grinning] It's bad enough destiny plays a hand with the red strings, let's just like friendship be natural.
