For everyone who knew the idol and the Deputy-Vice Chief of the Brigade, Azusa Miura, I can say confidently that she'd been sent home. I didn't check her apartment yet, but there's a lot of stuff in her Brigade locker here at the HQ. The typical letters Jeez, when did she write all these... for a few people are here for one. [For the people listed here. She expects those who know her to ask or just stop by] You can stop by to pick them up. She's left some other things too, but those are mostly Brigade property.

[So for the last few days, Haruhi was Shiki. That... Was weird. She has decided to make herself as Haruhi as possible. So she's actually going to ignore that aside from maybe her housemates and Minato and sit inside the Brigade HQ all day at the front desk. That event had to be traumatizing for some people, maybe they'll get some clients looking for counseling! ...Finally!

The spelunking trip is in a few days anyway so.

I've certainly done it before! But not really.

Ahh. Well, what sort of mysteries do you like?

[Rei actually does like mystery stories, probably just not the same sort. Supernatural thrillers tend to mean Youma after all]

Interesting ones, of course! It has to stand out somehow to be worth looking into... like a murder in a closed off island or a kidnapping at a remote mountain, or a classmate moving to Canada in the middle of the school term, or Loch Ness!

I agree there. If its nothing special then it wouldn't be worth investigating.

Have you investigated all of of that before?

Except Loch Ness, but I've explored a few things here... I should work out a water breathing spell though to explore the lake.

Other sources, obviously. Filial stuff doesn't actually have a lot of variety.

I've noticed that too. Most of the spirits don't want much to do with me, but Helios-san has been teaching me for a while, and I've been learning Charter Magic from Sabriel-chan too.

Jeez. No one used to learn magic beyond the spirits and suddenly it's a big fad as soon as I start. But yeah, I've picked up some thing from Helios's world.

Well, I've been studying magic in one form or another since I was six. But without my teacher here, I can't try and improve my spiritual powers from home as easily.

And I trust Sabriel-chan and Helios-san to teach me. In return, I'm sharing my own magic. If you wanted to learn something new, perhaps I could share it with you as well.

What do you have going for you? [As she runs a hand through her bangs, considering. But wow, okay.]

Ofuda magic. Banishing and protecting against evil spirits, and evil magic.

Anyone can learn it, all it takes is a little willpower and knowing how to write the kanji.

Oh! I actually tried to work some of that out already, but with a minority of evil spirits here, there's really no point to it.

My sort works on things that aren't just spirits, Haruhi-san. Vampires, demons, youkai, even tainted humans.

[Rei gathers up a pair of calligraphy sets and some proper paper, and arrives at the library within five minutes looking around for Haruhi.]

[Five minutes? whoa. She was here in two actually, but it does surprise her that she was so timely when she sees her come in. Cool]

[Rei wasn't particularly far away, and being on time is the hallmark of a proper Japanese lady. And Haruhi is kinda bossy, and recently lost a friend. Being late would be incredibly rude.

Still, Rei smiles and walks over.]

Yeah, good evening to you too. [She motions for Rei to get a seat next to her. Come on, let's go!]

[Rei nods and walks over, taking a seat and placing her bundle on the table]

So let's see it. [She brushed some hair back out of her face. She's got her own pen out]

[Rei opened up a calligraphy kit, taking out a brush and inking in several archaic, extremely formal kanji. Haruhi may not know them as they're used almost exclusively by Shinto priests, but if she did, it'd be understood as 'Evil Spirits Begone'.]

These are the characters I use in most basic warding spells. The kind meant to be placed around a shrine or a home to create a barrier.
