Okay, so listen up, everyone. There's a new girl in town who I want you all to recognize and keep something in mind when dealing with her!

[And then to the book, she holds up a picture of Mikuru (

tpdd). Taken with the journal and ripped out - namely, it's just her making tea in a cute pink yukata. Something simple and non-invasive for the time being]

This is her - Mikuru Asahina. She's cute, right? Of course she is!

[And then this face]

If any of you guys are harassing her or hitting on her or whatever and I hear about it I'm reserving the right to pepper stray or taser you. You got that? I'm serious too, don't you doubt that for a second.

[...Okay no with that done with back to smiling! She laughs where briefly before-]

Now! If you want to see her or you just want to helped out - particularly all you New Feathers, bonus points if you have something interesting to show us - recall that the SOS-Brigade is open to taking requests even now. Now that the holidays are over and the winters settling in on us, now's the prime time to do it! Got some stuff which needs investigating? [Wow, that sounds like an overreaction to Winry. But since Haruhi is showcasing Mikuru the blond might as well take this chance to introduce herself. So after bundling up for the cold Winry makes her way to the Brigade HQ to meet them.]

[Gurl, you'll see when you see how fragile and defenseless Mikuru really is. Anyway, Mikuru's back in the main back Brigade room and as said Haruhi is screening, which means she's at the front desk. Waiting for people to show up, flipping through the journal...]

[Winry walks over to the desk and taps her finger on the table.]

Hey.

[Look up from the jour- oh! Hey!]

Hey!

So, are you going to introduce me?

Oh, right! Well then- She stands then opens the door behind the front desk to call for Mikuru in the back room

Mikuru! You have your first visitor.

[ She can interact with people normally, you know, she's not a frightened squirrel. (... most of the time.) ]

Coming!

[ Her voice, coming from the back room, might be surprisingly steady for how she was handling things earlier. When she does appear, it's with a tray she's carrying, upon which there is a teapot and an extra tea cup. ]

Um... Pleased to meet you.

[ Once she reaches Haruhi, Mikuru refills her cup, and pours another, clearly for Winry. ]

I'm Mikuru Asahina.

[ Though that was probably obvious. The teapot is placed back on the tray, which is placed near the edge of Haruhi's desk. Mikuru gives a deep, but friendly (hopefully) bow. ]

Pleased to meet you too, I'm Winry Rockbell. [And at that the blond holds out her hand for a handshake. She'll accept the tea... after the handshake.]

[TEA. ...Take, blow, sip. As she watches this play out. It's sort of weird to see one of the most important people to her in Luceti meet someone important to her from home like this but.]

[ She is, admittedly, familiar with handshaking. That said, it still looks... very odd and invasive, but Mikuru does extend her hand to Winry, looking more than a bit confused. Her hands are mostly warmed up, by now, but she can't help but feel nervous. She's not a very touch-y person, really, not unless she knows the person. ]

Rockbell... that's really pretty.

[After properly shaking Mikuru's hand Winry takes the tea with a smile.]

Thank you. This tea smells great- did you brew it from leaves? [Or was it from the packaged stuff?]

[Leaves, of course. But she won't say that, let Mikuru handle herself for this one. Siiiip]

I made them from the tea leaves, you're right. Um... I wasn't used to that quality, though, so I'm glad it smells good.

[Winry blows gently on the tea before taking a sip and savoring the taste. Come on, Haruhi. You talk. You're just so good at it.]

Mikuru this is my... [She falters. Just here. "my girlfriend." It should be so easy to say. she knocked Winry for her reluctance to say it to Ed. But she... inhale, exhale] someone very important to me. I told her I would introduce you.

[ If it was the faltering that was suspicious, it was the words Haruhi chose there. 'Someone very important to me', she said, and Mikuru isn't an idiot. Haruhi doesn't need to tip-toe around words, she has no problem using whatever words she wants. Goons, minions, slaves -- all replacement-words for friends, in Mikuru's mind, because Haruhi doesn't do that well with affection. (She thinks, at least.) So then, 'someone very important to me'...? Where does that fall on the spectrum?

It's not that difficult to decode Haruhi-speak, at least not if you've known Haruhi long enough and well enough.

Her first reaction to scream and run off to contact the future because oh my God this is not how this is supposed to go oh my God what do I do in this situation oh my God is the world going to end. It's not that she has any sort of dislike for this Rockbell girl, she seems very nice, but there's nothing in the rule book about this, so Mikuru has to stop and think and look between the two of them, trying to remain as calm as possible. Maybe if she had someone to scream her insecurities at, right now, she could do that, but Kyon probably always knows about this, and didn't think it was a big enough deal to talk to Mikuru about and--

She smiles as brightly as she can. ]

I see. I'm glad Suzumiya-san has found someone special to her in a place like this.

[ 'oh God what do I tell Koizumi if he gets here, how exactly relevant are we, Suzumiya-san, do you even need us? And Nagato, how do I explain this to her? No, no, Nagato would just observe, that's what she's programmed for, but I... If you're stable here, Suzumiya-san -- what am I here for? Or any of us?'

What exactly is Mikuru's relationship with Haruhi? When you take away the fact that Mikuru is a time traveler sent to investigate Haruhi Suzumiya, what do you get?

She's starting to understand why Kyon was so touchy about the Brigade here, but Mikuru really doesn't want to be bitter about this, because there's no reason to be bitter. She just keeps smiling, as though nothing is wrong, even though her head has shifted into over-drive. ]

Um, I really do look forward to getting to know you, Rockbell-san. Someone who's close to Suzumiya-san... I'd like to be friends with them, also.

[Winry sighs. She didn't say it. After all the hassling Haruhi gave her when Ed first showed (and still gives off the vibes for), she didn't say it. Figures, right? Winry offers a smile to Mikuru. She really didn't expect this to get awkward, but... it has. She can feel it.]

I look forward to it as well. Haruhi [and Haruki, when she knew him] has told me about the Brigade from her world a few times.

[Even if she's forgotten names or mixed up names with the ones Haruki gave her.]

[...Oh son of a bitch she can feel the air. It's different. It's totally and complete different and balls. She pales, looking at Mikuru. She's smiling, yes, but it's not quite right. She knows she shouldn't blow it like this though, so she just busies herself with slurping some tea]

I hope it was good things. [ Yeah, you're not quite screwed so much as discovered, Haruhi, but Mikuru is really warming up to this Rockbell girl. She has really nice long hair... She'd probably look good in blues and whites. She wonders briefly if Haruhi has taken advantage of that. ]

I think it's a little different from here, but I guess that... well, since people from all over end up here, it's easier to find the paranormal now. But helping people is just as good. I'm really glad to be with everyone here.

Of course it was good things.
[Well... it was if you know how to translate "Suzumiya-speak," but she's learned that over the years. Even if Winry gets sent home, even if Haruhi gets sent home, the Suzumiya will always have a Brigade waiting for her. And for that Winry is glad. The Brigade and the people in it, no matter how she may boss them around, are important too.]

I'm sure everyone will be glad to have you here with them. You seem very nice.

Oh, thank you... [ She looks over to Haruhi, not quite smiling, but then she looks back at Winry. ] Have you known Suzumiya-san a long time?

[Well if you count her time with Haruki, which Haruhi (in a sense) remembers, then-]

Almost as long as I've been here, so a little over two years?

About that, yeah. ...I got you to swim.

[At a lake party, in a bikini. They had a race. Still a personal accomplishment.]
