13th: The Choices of Haruhi Suzumiya
[Voice]
[This post comes up about an hour after the draft announcement and her reaction to it. It's cool, simple, to the point. Whoever wants to run into her will run into her during the course of the next day or two (and feel free to action that!) when she goes about "business as usual." Fur now, she's been training in magic and hand to hand, but neither is going to be efficient here, so-]
Someone teach me how to shoot a gun.
[And who knows, maybe people will reply to her about unrelated garbage too. She's still trembling, sitting on the roof of her house tonight

[...not exactly comforting, is he, Haruhi?]
Benefits of a Sunnydale education.

But he knows it doesn't translate well, and he appreciates her humoring him.]
...how are you feeling, Haruhi?
[Voice - Filtered 15%]
You're not my uncle, you know.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
I didn't intend to suggest that I was.
Just a soon-to-be-fellow-soldier, thanks.
[Voice - Filtered 15%]
Right, whatever. [...] I'll be fine.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
Staying safe is a good start. [Staying safe. Not killing people. There is a difference, although not always. But he can tell by her tone that that's not what she's after, and so he won't say as much.]

What about a tazer?
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
[Much less lethality involved.] Requires you be closer to your target than a pistol, but I'm not sure how much difference that would make in a rain forest. Same for any mechanical difficulties.

Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
Maximum range of thirty five feet for standard late twentieth and early twenty first century models.

I wonder if I can requisition a Star Trek phaser.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
You'd be better off asking McCoy about something like that.
[Voice - Filtered 15%]
[...wait there's- ...Shaking that off]
I meant if they'd let me.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
I'd say the odds are in your favor, though.

And a personal teleportation device.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
[Voice - Filtered 15%]
...A kinetic barrier might be good though.
Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
[He knows what "kinetic" is and he knows what "barrier" is, but the words together aren't quite clicking, Haruhi.]

Re: [Voice - Filtered 15%]
...well, I hope you can get it. Sounds useful enough.
