[This post comes up about an hour after the draft announcement and her reaction to it. It's cool, simple, to the point. Whoever wants to run into her will run into her during the course of the next day or two (and feel free to action that!) when she goes about "business as usual." Fur now, she's been training in magic and hand to hand, but neither is going to be efficient here, so-]

A broken wrist could be the least of your worries with a gun. They can break down quickly and in the hands of someone who hasn't been trained how to use them, could be more dangerous to those around you. It's not as easy as it looks to aim one, not to mention what could happen if it jams and you try to use it without realizing. [Okay, so a gun given to you by the Malnosso probably won't do that, but hey! Scare tatics!]

Then what do you suggest, Vash?!

Something better suited for someone who isn't use to combat fighting. There are weapons that are designed for stunning and temporary blinding.

A flashbang is more dangerous than a gun to someone who doesn't know how to use it, and don't try to tell me a tazer is safe either!

That said, I'll be requisitioning a tazer too.

[Safer than a gun at least.] Alright, that will be a bit better. They don't have such a big recoil.

I can teach you how to aim, if you want some quick lessons before we go. But, I hope you know that there is no shame in not using a weapon if it's not needed. And no shame in staying away from the fighting to help those who are hurt. [Have it for defense? Great idea. Going out to fight? Not so much.]

What kind of an idiot are you? I'm a teenager from Japan on a normal Earth. I belong on a battlefield as much as a child from your world does.

Hey! You never know what kids could be reading these days! All those hero stories and such! It fills up their heads and you never know what they'll do next!

[Cut him some slack! It seems on Gunsmoke even five year olds could be packing heat.]

[It hurts a little to say but-] I'm not a hero. I'm not cut out for protecting people.

That's not true. A person isn't a hero just because they know how to beat someone else up.

It's true. I know I wouldn't have made it through some of the battles I've been sent into without people there who could help me and watch out for me when I was injured or needed sleep.

Of course not, but I'm not a medic either! I'm not a soldier or a medic or anything except the chief of a club designed for people to forget about stupid stuff like this!

Then do that. Help them forget. Tell them stories that will help them forget, even if it's just for a little bit.

There's no forgetting on a battlefield, Vash. But fine.

Maybe not long term, but even forgetting for a moment can help.

You can? That's great! People will be really hungry out there! And communications is very important to keep clear in things like this. [That's the spirit!]
