31st: The Spells of Haruhi Suzumiya

[For the last 20some days, Haruhi Suzumiya has been obsessively studying. While she slowed down some after the Cultural Fair, it still was a very, very welcome distraction from thinking about how much she was hurt by that break up. Which is why she's been in and our of the library a lot. Finally though today she has decided to prop open the journal and ask for help.]

Hey, Luceti, does anyone recognize these?

[And she moves the journal to focus on:
* Helios's universe basic spellbook
* Basic Buffyverse spellbook (possibly this one or this one)
Lined up next to each other. these are the two she's had the most success with so far... she even more or less mastered one of the spells in the first one.]

Or these?

[And now it focuses on:
* Touhou Grimoire
* CLAMP universe magic tome (Western)
* CLAMP universe magic tome (Eastern)
Much less success here...]

Or this one? [She is much more unhappy sounding at this last book (a Greenhill Academy Rune textbook) because she's had basically no success even figuring out what it is talking about other than it apparently deals with mythology and magic... things.]

Or, I also found the "Writings of Aurelius" next to those first two ones, but I'm not sure if it's got spells in it or not... [it feels ominous, actually... so she figured it might, but- inside it just looks like a bunch of horoscope type things as well as just some weird old school notes]

I'm looking for people who know these books and are willing to tutor me in what's within them. I expect answers ASAP; that is all. [A pause] Also, Leon, since when do you write textbooks? [And then the camera focuses on a book written by Leon DS Geeste on Symbology]

So you're resolved to keep quiet about the whole thing, up to and including if they actually do start dating?

I... don't want you to stress too much trying to seem okay with something you're not okay with. If it's that way.

I think it's better to let that kind of stuff out a little bit before it explodes.

What I am, five? [She pouts briefly at that,, biting her cheek. Gosh, it's not like she's some little kid who'll blow up at every little thing. ...Even if she totally did back at North High lol]

[...] I still love her, which is stupid. Really, the whole institution of it is stupid, and so is the fact I'm not going to be okay with E- anyone she dates or marries or whatever for some time. But I owe her to try to be. [Exhale.]

Besides, she's not that tactless. If she is, I'll hit her myself.

Until that time passes, I guess all you can do is work on other stuff.

Yeah, obviously. ["good for you" chides her somehow. She releases that with an exhale then] Which is why I'm thinking about our summer plans.

['Well, it wasn't exactly the most aspirational statement, so it probably deserved some chiding.'

However, the next part almost chills his blood.]

Aha. Summer plans. Is there anything left to do?

Well obviously, we've barely started. [Only May, after all]

But we finished it all so thoroughly last summer.

[Well, his last summer.]

What's on the menu?

Well, the beach, my birthday, a boat trip- [...Yeah, a boat trip would be good] Tanabata, maybe Obon? Oh, and a big water gun fight! Maybe even paintball!

['Honestly, Haruhi these days doesn't even seem that prone to causing bizarre things to happen on "adventures" like these. Or maybe it's the Malnosso's restrictions. Or maybe it's just that Nagato or Koizumi aren't here to tell me about them.

Either way, I don't see much further harm in any of those... though you can never really see it coming anyway when it's her.']

Great. Guess you've got it all thought out after all.

['Though with the current male numbers in the SOS Brigade here, I can't say how enjoyable a beach trip will be anyway.']

Oh, well, at least there's no homework here.

And then possibly some other things! Maybe some spelunking? I've done a little of that, that was fun.

Sounds like a lot of trouble to go into a cave for no reason.

In which a kraken of some kind dwells, no doubt.

Possibly a tribe of the latter who live to serve the former. Who knows? It's Luceti. What a sense of possibility.
