35th: The Breaks of Haruhi Suzumiya

[Voice]

Summer's drawing to a close already... we're already half-way through August, pretty much. There's really a lot of things left to do now, even if I wasn't really planning a lot... [A hum] I guess being made super old wasn't in my plans. [Old...] I'm actually twenty years old now, how weird is that? [Physically now, even, because of what happened on her birthday. Not that is will necessarily stand out to people] But anyway, seriously? There's submarining, bug catching, exploring some ancient ruins, spelunking, maybe going out on a date or something... Actually I'd like to spelunk! SOS-Brigade, assuming that we don't get a working submarine in two weeks, let's go explore some caverns!

-Right, that reminds me. I haven't been around for it, but this is Luceti so I'm sure bad things have happened. If any of you guys are suffering from issues - emotional psychological, interpersonal, maybe economic, the SOS-Brigade can assist you. Bonus points if it's interesting, but our doors are open! [And if you don't want to respond to this post or make your own or something you can reply here] Similarly, if you want to help people like that, go spelunking, or are at all are into the idea of your life being filled with purpose and meaning, sign up to join the SOS-Brigade! You need only make sure it's approved by the Chief, that is to say, me.

Oh, right... Anyone who's from Xion's world and can use magic, I'd like a word with you guys.

Hey! How do you guys feel about the idea of working on making a functioning submarine?

[She'd add Ed or Winry... but that whole thing with Gracia missing she decides not to bug them unless they reply anyway. Or. Well in Winry's case she also saw her back on Sunday. Oh well]

[Filtered to Howard Stark]
Hey, how's the plans?

[Filtered to Hiccup]
Any progress on the boat so far?

Physical fitness is actually not too bad an idea. It'll help keep your endurance up at least.

I think just regularly maintaining your fitness in general will do a great deal more for your magical training. Magic is about endurance and fitness as well as aptitude for wielding it. Perhaps if you'd like I could give you an exam when you think you're ready.

[ But only if she wants. Just to check and see what needs more practice and the like. ]

[ Huh. He was not expecting that. Most of his students usually hate that sort of thing. If he wasn't in such a...funk he'd be more happy about this. ] Oh. Wonderful. Whenever you feel ready for it, really. I-I don't want to pressure you into taking one, especially when not ready.

[ The point, of course, is not to fail her or making her that way. It's to test her skills and knowledge retained. ]

[ He is very messed up Haruhi, you don't even want to know. ] A small written section and then, perhaps, some actual hands on part as well.

Oh. You don't have to worry about that. It'll be basics, really. Simple things, such as the beginner level spells in the first few chapters. And some simple sigils. Nothing complexing like teleporting or things like that.

Lets just say there might be one from every chapter up to four. That means small illumination sigils, warning sigils, and I believe there's a start to enchantments too. I won't tell you which one so it's best to study them all. [ Helios is a fierce teach Haruhi. Fierce! ]

Then I have no doubts that you'll do well on it. One of the best factors towards learning is, well, the subject being appealing and the student having an eagerness to learn it.

That sounds reasonable enough. I'll see what I can come up with by the end of the month. Until then...I wish you well in your studies, Haruhi.
