Attention, SOS-Brigade! I... have something to tell you all.

You probably noticed, but with the Kin'coran incident, not all of us were united with our efforts. Azusa and I organized that baseball game, and a lot of you helped, but a lot of you also went out to do your own things. But the thing is, a lot of you who did that also helped people. You contributed, which is within the realms of the expectations of Brigade members. Primarily, of course, the SOS-Brigade is a unified force and that's not about to change! But...

[She bites her lip. Okay. How does she-] But, basically, that's not always practical here. So for all of you who did things which held up the spirit of the Brigade, even not under your Chief's orders, I'm giving you my commendations. Well done.

You see, a lot of the Brigade has gone home. And the... our [Her. Kyon. Itsuki. Mikuru. Yuki.] SOS-Brigade from home, from North High - most of it isn't here. Of course, at North High it wasn't 100% the same objective... probably because I've not seen most of the fantastic things I've seen here. [And she bites her lip again] Anyway. The point is that lots and lots of SOS-Brigade members have been displaced along the way. And some of you [Xion] do have other responsibilities, of course. But basically, what I'm trying to say is...

The SOS-Brigade has reached a point that I expect you all to adhere to our goals and principles even when it's not my orders! Ensure people live worthwhile lives! Ensure that people aren't just slumming through life listless and pointlessly here! And if you're doing that, you're doing your Chief proud! She can't hold it against you! [...Cough]

T-to that end, I'm working on making some SOS-Brigade badges. Not that you need to wear them al--ways. That would just be tacky, even if it would be nice. ...But! I want you to talk to people, particularly people from other enclosures you meet on missions about the principles of the SOS-Brigade, and what we've done! Maybe give them badges and make them honorary members. I'm of course the final say for this enclosure, but I'm trusting the judgement of people I've picked here for other ones.

[That was mortifying. Sob. Cough] ...Aside from the spelunking trip. [She will have mentioned this in meetings before] Of course, the submarine won't be finished for a while, so we're going to be doing this first. I'm thinking we leave on the seventh or so of October. Oh right, if anyone needs flying transportation that the teleporters that Leon of the SOS-Brigade provided with some help from Sokka can't get you to, the SOS-Brigade now has a flying dragon in our coffers. Her name's Isabelle and she'd love the exercise!

[BONUS ACTION: If anyone wants to run into Haruhi jogging around town in the morning or shopping in the afternoon after the meeting you can do either]

Last time we talked through the journals... When Minato made that announcement about the Kin'corans, I was sick. I mean, I had stopped taking the medicine for several weeks.

I'm fine now, though, but... I should have known better than to stop taking it because I was fine for a few days without it.

[To be honest, she never liked the medicine. Not with Keiichi and not with Rena. She's the least qualified to talk about this because she often preached to Rena and to others for Rena that she could overcome it without dosages. But... if Keiichi gets that on edge just from missing it, then. Maybe he does need to medication]

Well that's good, that you're back on it.

I guess so.

I thought I had overcome it, you know? I lost my supply of medicine for a mission at the start of a long one, but I didn't have an outbreak or anything so I thought that I... Didn't need it anymore and didn't realize how I was getting.

[He pauses before he adds.]

I'm sorry.

Stop it with the apologies already! "Sorry" doesn't even sound like a word anymore!

And what do you want me to say? Nothing at all? Because the best thing to do when you do something wrong and regret it is to not say anything about it, right.

Well preferably I'd get to a point where I don't have regrets.

[And then quieter, more gently:] Look, you can apologize all you want to me. It's fine if you do. I just... would prefer for you to get to a point where you stop doing that. And I don't mind if you let me down some before you get there.

[He's silent for a moment before he speaks.]

I would prefer that too... I just wish I didn't have that or needed shots everyday to be fine.

... I'll try again to get better at all this.

Don't try, do! You're an excellent man, Keiichi, who hasn't needed shots until it got worse! And things get worse for everyone here; I'm making breakfast every morning like some messed up domestic and working day in and day out on random magic things.

But no matter how worse it gets for you, you won't be paranoid enough to consider people your enemies, will you? But yeah... I know it gets worse for everyone here.

I'll get better at all this... Okay?

[OH SHE HAS ENEMIES...]

[She does, he forgets at times that this is Haruhi whom he's talking to, though.]

[Lip bite. She did exhaust a lot of her honesty with the speech, but...]

[He laughs a bit.]

Thanks, Haruhi... Though if you ever get tired of me it's fine if you stop, you are always doing so much that no one could blame you if you got tired.

I get tired of you asking if I'm getting tired.

... Then that's a "yes" to my questions if you're tired?

[He laughs.]

Well good, as long as you note that! [Huff huff!]

[Keiichi smiles, as much as Haruhi can be Haruhi at times, he's really glad to count her as a friend. He was really lucky even if at times he wondered if her being willing to help was because of her promise, because the compromise she felt she had with the others from Hinamizawa that had been here or just because he was in the Brigade. He's not going to try to check if it was any of those things anyway so it doesn't matter.]

... Hey, Haruhi... Remind me why you don't want uniforms?

Basically, it'd an excessive violation of people's ability to exert a personal style! It's not a problem for someone like you, but for someone like say, Leon, that would be a big problem.

Ah, I see! That makes sense... Wait. Is that a subtle way to say that I have a bad fashion sense? Or is it because you think I would look good in an uniform?
