5th: The Contamination of Haruhi Suzumiya

So everyone, Valentines is supposed to be about love and stuff, right? But have you ever thought what's up with that Saint Valentine guy who originated the holiday?! Given that it's still popular today, is he just some famous dead guy, or is he now a ghost, trying to appeal to everyone's mind and manipulate them?! Wouldn't that explain how it's popular in both Japan and the West?

Bearing that in mind, even if this holiday is kinda stupid, it's still important to adhere to certain traditions in hopes of seeing any possible Valentines spirits. Because of that, I've gotten chocolate for some of you.

[...Namely all of the guys in the Brigade and grudgingly Minato. She considered some others, like Neku or Sokka, but decided against it. She also considered Winry but she's not sure if that's too weird or not. That said, delivering them? No, she's carrying them around in her bag in case she runs into people for other reasons and failing that going to put what's left in a basket at the HQ after she's done.]

More importantly-! A bunch of you have heard about the beach, right?! And you're all psyched to go there this summer?! Well, brought to you by our SOS-Brigade's genius scientist, Leon [this next part is muttered quickly and might not be heard:] andsomehelpfromSokka we're bringing you the all-new Beach Teleportation System! You know how the ones for the Hot Springs work, right?! Same thing here! The village-end for the teleporter is located in the barracks, and the other end is way off, so we can have easy access once it warms up!

[.....that's pretty bold, Haruhi, though he's not totally surprised by her suggestion. Keiichi was obviously in dire need of being kissed and there's only one woman here. Now he's just going to sit and ~~popcorn.gif~~ see how Keiichi will react.]

[It being the perfect time for some of it doesn't mean it was appropriate. Or good. Keiichi may not be the best guy out there and he's a pervert, but even he has some sense of what's appropriate or not.

And there were like six girls to choose from, three if the youngest ones were ruled out -though Hanyuu was by far the oldest actually- but...]

[... Then again... She has a point. And actually he isn't even sure if it's normal in his time to be his age and have yet to give the first kiss. And he did say that it's not so much about the romance but about it being something important personally, something that it's easier to share with someone one trusts rather than someone one just loves.

And he trusts Haruhi. And maybe loves her as well. She's special, different from every other girl, including Rena. She's not perfect but he likes it that way, even if at times it drives him nuts and makes him want to forfeit his promise of not hurting girls and punch her...

Or pull at her hair like when he was in kindergarten.]

[So, Haruhi is a good option. A great option in fact. And she's a girl, because Minato may still count as an option but Keiichi would preferably get his first from a girl, thank you very much, no offense meant. And he wants to kiss her. So it's a win-win, thing, right?]

[Right. All he has to do is kiss her and then it will be done. he can do it, right? He trusts her. And cares for her. And wants to do it. He can do it.]

[He can't do it. Who is he fooling? He's a chicken, he's just scared about the whole first kiss thing even if he knows it's nothing that great or special. It's a big step for him. And it's Haruhi.

Why is he remembering that doll he gave to Mion, now. Oh, yeah, the whole "it's a moment of change". Yeah, the door opening to never close again. He doesn't want to open that door.]

[No, he wants to open it. Honestly, part of him is also annoyed by all this and knowing he's the only one of the three who has yet to give his first kiss he can't help but feel competitive. Even if it's not a competition...]

[God, if this was one of the club's games Mion and the others would have stomped on his corpse... Even if they hadn't given their first kisses, they probably would have won. Just look at him, he can't even bring himself to kiss the girl he wants to kiss when she gives him permission to.

He can almost hear Mion and Shion laughing at him. There would be no end to the mocking.]

[No! There will be an end to it! Today!

[He just... Has to gather some balls... Come on, K1, you can do it. Remember the good times. Get some influx of the Yamato-damashii in you! Be cool, Maebara Keiichi!]

[So ~~after an eternity~~ finally, Keiichi pulls himself up and without another world but a determined expression in his face, he reaches for Haruhi, hand slipping behind her head as he moves closer... And pulls her into a kiss. Close lips, mind you, but with all the determination and passion he can muster. At least it won't be a sloppy kiss.]

[...What is this parade of expressions on his face? Haruhi watches all these, mesmerized and frankly a little dumbfounded that she could pull this fort of reaction out of a guy who, she knows, is probably second only to her in terms of estimating cup sizes in the Brigade. Whose girl form unabashedly estimated "package" sizes. Like... seriously, a first kiss isn't that big of deal, is it? As she watches him freak out and be flustered she finds herself getting hot around the collar what with secondhand embarrassment.

She is almost - almost - tempted to call it off because good God could this be more awkward]

[In fact, she is starting to form the words in her mouth about the time she ~~sees his eyes well up in bitter tears~~ sees him start to look dejected. Was she offending him, hurting him...?]

[Aaaaand it is about that moment he mans up and does it. She was not expecting it to come, and in fact blinks wildly for the first few seconds after he does. But she does quickly settle into it. Well. Quickly enough]

[And Minato is now very much the odd man out. It isn't particularly bad... there's something mesmerizing about watching the two of them. But there's also a pang of something else. Jealousy? He's not as petty as that. Maybe because Keiichi spoke for so long on the importance of kisses the act now seems different. It's a small bit of envy, as they share something he's gone a long time without.]

[Honestly Keiichi has never very much thought about kissing or how it would be or feel. Which is probably good as he has no expectations. Still he tries to make this as good as he can, he has read and seen a lot after all, even if it's different from the real deal. He'll just... Be careful to not put too much pressure or too little, maybe move the lips a bit but without opening them... Oh, and not breath. Cause in his mind it would make her tickle or something so kisses probably are done without breathing...

What will happen first, him turning purple or Haruhi pushing him away?]

[Her pulling off, actually. And when she does, a smirk plays on her lips. An evil, maniacal smirk. One both boys know ~~and love~~ and fear. Because when she does, she wipes her lips gently with her index finger before tut-tuting them and-]

Now you two need to make out.

[While Keiichi may owe you something after that, Minato still doesn't. So she gets a flat look.]

Will you keep your deal?

[Thank God, he didn't get to turn blue... But.. Haruhi, you sneaky girl, only Keiichi has gotten in a compromise here.]

Yeah, Minato doesn't owe you anything.

[And Keiichi's the uke, he can't force the seme into anything.]

You'll get one secondhand anyway, so the deal's already on!
