This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Haruhi anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[It's late, but Shiki hadn't wanted to leave the island and go back to house 10. Sure she would have her friends, but Neku still hadn't returned which only solidified her fear. He really was gone. So when the droids came to the hotel and started escorting the remaining guests out, she didn't resist, merely falling into line and leaving. Though she looked around briefly to see if anyone else she knew was still there...she had a feeling that Haruhi would still be around, at least.]

[Oh she was. Winry had left by now, but she was still here. She's a bit disappointed that it's over, but oh well. Oh- Shiki]

Hi.

Hey...[She's going to step away from the droid that was escorting her and meet up with the other girl, never stopping her movement as they went. There's a long silence then as she debates how to bring up the subject. She's avoided telling her so she wouldn't ruin Haruhi's fun, but it was hard. She needed her best friend, and she needed to explain everything to her. But...that too was proving to be harder than she thought.] ...can you believe they left it here for this long?

I wonder if they're double up things with all the drafts from now on.

[She says this lightly, getting in pace beside Shiki. Admittedly, she surprise over how long LucetiLand lasted is why she stayed here a long as she did]

It's a thought. I mean they kind of owe us. [It's interesting actually.] So you and Winry...had fun?

Yeah, of course we did! I even made good on that bet I told you about a while ago.

[You know, the one with the painting a shirt on her. Not the one where Winry is a Brigade member for a day]

[She can't help but laugh a little.] Somehow I knew you would. I'm glad to hear it. We all needed time to just relax before everything gets worse.

This time wasn't it more like things got worse while it was here?

...you mean with the draft and stuff? Well yeah but...you know. [Vague hand gestures. Haruhi feel free to call her out on being stupid.]

[...] Shiki, what even.

...okay can I talk to you? About something really serious?

[Look around. They're on the beach having just been escorted off an resort that just vanished. A few other people seem to be around. She turns back to Shiki]

...Okay, but wanna go somewhere else?

Shop or house? Whichever's closest from here.

Shop, duh. The teleporter again. ...Neither's super close though.

[She looks around - there's the fort, but it is a ways off]

...it's not really a secret. People will find out eventually anyway. [She grabs Haruhi's wrist and pulls her along the beach, down away from the other people that are still lingering.] Too bad we don't have a blanket or something...it's really sandy.

Oh... okay. [Pulled along. But... okay this does not sound good. She frowns as she trails along]

[It's not good. She settles on a spot, slowly letting go of her friend's wrist and sitting on the sand. She doesn't care enough at the moment. She can shake out her skirt later.] So...something happened the other day, and I didn't want to tell you because you were having too much fun, but I really need to tell you because I can't...

[...Oh jeez. Someone went home she didn't know about or someone died in the draft she didn't know about based on context. She feels like a shmuck for not knowing which or who, so she just sits down wordlessly next to Shiki for the time being]

...[She's just going to have to bite the bullet.] Neku's gone.

What.

[Again? She guiltily finds herself thinking]

He's gone. He's been gone for a few days...I even went back to check the house. I just woke up one morning and he wasn't here.

Oh.

[...]

And now she puts an arm around Shiki's shoulder]

[She will just be leaning against her in that case.] Why do you think this keeps happening?

Who knows?

...is there any way you can bring him back? [It's selfish to ask, she knows. She shouldn't be asking her best friend to try to alter the universe just for her, but...]
