21st: The Revolution of Haruhi Suzumiya

Okay! Everyone in Luceti more or less stable from that last experiment? Good! Maybe you're not, but we're done with all the apologies and public fallout right, right? And most of the new feathers are in by now.

Well, I'm here today to inform you about the details of a group you guys might not be super familiar with if you're new and might have some misconceptions about if you're not. That's right, I'm here to talk to you about the one and only SOS-Brigade, and what our new and revised Brigade system will be bringing to you guys. That's right, revel in our generosity, because starting now the SOS-Brigade is pooling its talent to more than every be the leg Luceti stands on!

[First things first, put up to the journal's camera is an image of the Brigade's symbol. One that many might find familiar- it's spray-painted onto the sign for the Brigade HQ in the main plaza of town.]

So what is the SOS-Brigade, you guys might wonder? Well, normally, I'd suggest you were living under a rock because we are in the guide, and are Luceti's premiere group of anything related to entertainment over the years and did just put on a wildly successful Equinox festival, but that's actually be a question I've been asking myself lately. "What is the SOS-Brigade here in Luceti?" The Brigade was originally founded back on Earth to solve the mysteries of this world, and we still do that here! But here, a lot of those mysteries just make things more complicated and tiresome and bad - they don't do anything to live up to the name "Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade."

So! You want to know what we're about? Well, here's our new mission statement: "To ensure that everyone in Luceti experiences a worthwhile life. The SOS-Brigade will be there to support troubled people in whatever capacity they need to be assisted."

That's right! As of now, we're answering the SOS-es [Haha, she picks up tempo here, amused at her own pun] of the people in this village and setting out to solve their problems! Got love issues, come to us! Got problems with a friend? Come to us! Need friends? Us too! Anything and everything you might need support in we can either provide, or refer you to someone else... who, you know, is better suited for it. [...] Which isn't a lot of things, we're pretty talented!

But the point is, yes, the Brigade is about parties and events and game nights, but more than that, people, it's about people, right? The world can't overflow with fun and be saved with good cheer unless everyone's problems are solved! So come to us with a problem, we'll work it out! Just stop by our HQ and any member of my SOS-Brigade will be more than happy to work with you, and we can then work with, well, you! So that's how it is, answering the SOS of troubled people and ensuring that they actually can have fun here to some extent.

So you hear that Luceti, stop by! ..Also, because of these changes, we're also recruiting! Any potential applicants or people who need a life coach or something, speak up and we'll consider you for being welcomed into the fold.

-Additionally, is Brave Vesperia still around? I need either them or someone else who an work with a large scale carpentry job. Also, Paprika or any other therapist, ring me!

O...kay. Changes are out in the open now. Sorry, sorry, kept it under wraps until now. In light of the changes I'm asking for a sound off of everyone who isn't Leon, Keiichi, or Ayumu to speak up so I know if you're still with us for our new image. It might be a bit more demanding, yeah, but things which are rewarding usually are and we'll still have fun with it, promise! Once I know who's doing what, I'll also be appointing our new Vice-Chief and Deputy by the end of the week.

[Asking while surveying the items in the store, honestly he has not much idea about coffee so he's not going to be helpful with picking one.]

Well, sort of. So... [And she runs a hand through her hair, thinking. Now, what do do...] How are you doing?

[Still looking through the items around.]

Eh? Fine... I'm not much into coffee so I can't really be helpful here.

[Is he really not getting the question or is that a subtle way to evade it?]

[He hums as he checks one of the mixed coffee cans he finds. It's hard to tell if he's doing it on purpose or not but he doesn't seem to be paying Haruhi much attention.]

[... Okay that tears it. She rushes the distance between them and goes to tug forcefully on Keiichi's arm, trying to pull his upper body into the shelf he's looking at and/or towards her height]

[He clearly wasn't expecting that, Keiichi lets the can drop with a yelp as he's pulled like a rag doll.]

Ack! What the hell, Haruhi?!

You're being weird! [And she tugs again, but now goes to grab the neck of his shirt, tugging him closer] Not tell me why or ... just tell me why!

[You know, this was more comfortable when you were a guy and he was tugged upwards, not forced to bend.]

I told you I'm not being weird! Wait... Did you tell me to meet to ask about this?

[Had he known he wouldn't have come, man.]

Are too! Now spill it! [Cue some neck shaking. She is a fierce 152cm girl okay]

[He never doubted she was fierce. Cue some strangled noises.]

You're strangling me! And I don't know what you're talking about! Did Minato and you talk or what?

[That last part wasn't supposed to be said out loud.]

[She... lets go but also shoves him. Her intention is to force him to fall back on his but so she can pin him via mounting. The unfortunate implications are lost on her for this moment anyway because she has bigger concerns. Like assaulting a boy in public]

[And on his butt he falls, he tries to avoid it, of course, but fails and only manages to drag several items on the shelf down with him. Cans banging the floor and rolling all around. He frowns at the girl, though, annoyed with her attitude.

What's wrong with her? It's not as if she has Social Links like Minato does to notice that something was off, right? And because of the Brigade he hadn't been able to avoid her as much as others... So this can't be about that, right? Even if it seems the most logical explanation, but even if it is...]

If I shut up how do you expect me to talk?! I still don't know what do you want to hear anyway.

I want to hear why you [And she points at his face, between the eyes, down at him] are being so weird! You sound weird and something smells fishy!

[At least she's on top of him. She's got this.]

[He's silent for a long moment, frowning and looking at her seriously. Studying her, leveling his own possibilities... One can see the wheels turn inside his head,]

Define weird.

[He talks back in an empty tone. Does she have any substance on this or is just making a fit because he sounded a bit more off than normal?]

Are you seriously asking me to define weird by being weirder?

[With a huff]

I don't know if I'm weirder or what. But it sounds as if you don't even know what you are asking. If you can't explain what you mean by weird, maybe it's all just in your head.

[The tone stays the same as he eyes her seriously, he tries to smile, to act nonchalantly and rest it importance, but all he achieves is a twisted expression in his lips.]

[GLARE. She glares down at him because of course it's not in her head it's Keiichi and history shows he's a weirdo with weird thoughts and weird values]

[Glaring back at her. Why? Why is even Haruhi noticing it and finding it a problem? Didn't he do enough? He joked, worked for the Brigade, he did everything he always did, but nothing more. It was all about the Brigade, and class if they were at school, other than that... He kept his distances, but still wasn't that enough?]

Oi... You sure you want to stay where you are?

[Maybe if he tries to shift the discussion...]

Shut up! [As she goes to glare some more. He's cracking! She's like a bad cop in this instance, right?! If she keeps glaring, eventually he'll surrender. And when she surrenders, well then she's got him!

[Again with the shut up. Why does she tell him to shut up when she's telling him to talk? What the hell does she want?

That's actually a good question. What does she want? Does she even know? He could ask but... She told him to shut up so he remains silent, glaring back at her. See? He's silent now, what do you want now, Haruhi?]

[If she stares long enough

[Would that serve for anything? Staring right back, and still being obedient and silent. See Haruhi? He does exactly what you told him to do and isn't vague and senseless, like always. Like every time she has told him something, no matter what it was...

Keiichi flinches and looks away for a second, great now he has bad memories floating in his mind.]

...Why aren't you saying anything?! Are you stupid?!

[She reacts when he flinches away, shaking his neck again, which in this position will probably bop his head on the floor in motion with the shaking. GOD SO ANNOYING]
