...Okay, Brigade, if you didn't get the memo yet we've lost a lot of members- including Naoki and Yoohoo, among others. [Her voice dips. But then there's a slapping sound and she presses on, her tone getting brighter] But that's beside the point! New feathers, there's a lot of you guys now, and old feathers too, some of you guys must want some excitement in your life, right?! Ever feel that budding sense of your existence here being meaningless?! Well, think no further, because for a short time only the SOS-Brigade is accepting applications for new members to our illustrious ranks!

But some of you might think "Wow I'm lame and have been living under a rock and/or haven't read the guide, what is this completely amazing sounding organization," right? Since you asked, I'll answer free of charge!

The Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade - SOS-Brigade for short - is the greatest organization ever invented. We're dedicated to finding and solving all the mysteries of this world, thus ensuring that everyone in it can lead a fun and worthwhile life! It's like a form of enlightenment! So basically, people who have experienced something mysterious in the past, have experienced something mysterious recently, or who plan on a mysterious experience in the near future should come to the SOS Brigade for them be solved.

But besides that, we have ensure that people have fun! We have big plans for the coming months! It's Spring, and while we obviously won't get Golden Week, there's always time and need for another Hanami or for contests, attractions, fireworks once we get summer, the beach, the lake, you name it, we're on it! You should fully expect your life to be influenced by our might in the near future! I hope your bodies are ready for it!

So there you have it! And, like I said, we're accepting applications! So hurry up and speak up so that I, Haruhi Suzumiya, can process you and determine if you have the right stuff!

[Buuut, once that announcement is made in ther break time for school at about 10:30 AM (and thus replies might be later in the day) Haruhi has places to be. She's being low-key about it, but it is White Day, after all. So, during her lunch break at school she sets off- she had her Winry Day yesterday, but she owes Winry something in return. Thus, with a bag over her shoulder around 12:30PM she's made her way to Winry's house to knock.

From there, back to school, finishing it up, the Brigade meeting... and then loitering around town is her MO for the afternoon. She got chocolate for all of the guys in the Brigade (plus Neku and maybe some others) after all, and even she's not voicing it she expects things back from there. ...And Minato. And Keiichi. But she's not going to press the issue there because even she's not sure she wants them. But if you see her lurking around the square in the afternoon that's why.]

[WINCE. There is a visible wince here because that's too much too fast. Her family's never been fiscally secure the way most of her classmates are but at the same time, what Buffy's describing. This is too much reality. She hangs her head and sighs]

[and she turns a little, shifting uncomfortably]

[ buffy's no stranger to fiscal insecurity thanks to, well, all kinds of things. her quick-fire quipping had been full of coping goodness. ]

Not that...that's even an issue here. Three cheers for living economy-free?

[ and now she went and ticked off winry's someone again and she's quite miffed at herself for that. jack's lessons should be teaching how to be more attentive to what upsets people. ]

Well, not economy free, but money free anyway. [She says this distantly, avoiding eye contact once more. She's tempted to say Buffy what's her point in talking to her, but that might be too direct. she also wants to ask what if anything winry's discussed with her but... even more too direct. As is she's stuck just sort of standing here. Sigh]

[ no. not economy free at all -- but she's avoiding that particular truth. and thank goodness haruhi it's grilling her too bluntly. ]

All that's left is to develop a cell-phone sized journal. Those things? Too clunky and not at all pocket sized.

Depending on the pants you can fit it in them a side pocket, but mostly it's a purse thing. [Like the one she carries around the vast majority of the time. Now included] But yeah, pretty much.

[ and now they're both playing the non-blunt game because buffy quite wants to get on the topic of winry but isn't sure how to tackle that elephant. ]

...And I knew that hand-bag addiction would come in handy, sometime.

[She said a little coldly]

[ well that's just upsetting. here she is, trying to play nice with the chatting and haruhi's going out and throwing insults ~~that are probably very similar to the things she calls other people really~~.

so she deflects it in the best way she knows how -- egoism. ] Oh, I'd be way higher than captain. At least like General Obvious.

Fine, you can be a General if you like, but you're still just throwing out inane comments.

[Okay, now she's gaining ground. Eye contact returns to Buffy, and she folds her arms, trying to look imposing and serious]

Look, if you're going to shoot the breeze with me, maybe we should go somewhere rather than standing in the street like idiots. This goes double if you actually have a point for this conversation.

[Like Winry, it has to be about her, right?]

[ that transparent, huh? oh well -- buffy is used to it by now. she gives a slow nod and lets a bit of the pretense drop away. ]

And just which somewhere would you suggest? Though -- for the record I'd like to state that I have no personal issues with street-standing.

[ buffy would suggest somewhere on her own...most likely good spirits; however, she's not interested in having her suggestions shot down. ]

[A challenging smirk comes up on her face. She gets to pick the playing field? Well then, there's only one choice: the one where has has absolute advantage and Buffy has none at all.

She jerks her thumb at the Brigade HQ]

[ aha. she's been inside that building once before while speaking with haruki. but buffy nods because what real difference does the where make to her? ]

[And with that, Haruhi's going to bound off to that place, her HQ. And then settle in for being in the chair at the back of the room quickly. Her chair - the one she's most comfortable in.]

[ for her part, buffy does not sit. she stands with her arms folded loosely across her torso. a habitual stance -- controlled. ]

...You've got some new stuff in here since I was last in. Huh.

Course! If you stop moving then you might as well be comatose. Being on top of a changing climate is vital!

[She says with a bright grin]

...This climate? Changing? Sure, but hardly in a way that begs having a -- is that a photocopier? [ huh. ]

The photocopier is a vital part of my organization.

...So, on average? How many of "your people" get caught trying to photocopy their own faces in any given week?
