[...Okay, she can do this. She's normal, finally (or so she'd like to convince herself) and because of that it's time to get to business.]

...Okay, Brigade, if you didn't get the memo yet we've lost a lot of members- including Naoki and Yoohoo, among others. [Her voice dips. But then there's a slapping sound and she presses on, her tone getting brighter] But that's beside the point! New feathers, there's a lot of you guys now, and old feathers too, some of you guys must want some excitement in your life, right?! Ever feel that budding sense of your existence here being meaningless?! Well, think no further, because for a short time only the SOS-Brigade is accepting applications for new members to our illustrious ranks!

But some of you might think "Wow I'm lame and have been living under a rock and/or haven't read the guide, what is this completely amazing sounding organization," right? Since you asked, I'll answer free of charge!

The Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade - SOS-Brigade for short - is the greatest organization ever invented. We're dedicated to finding and solving all the mysteries of this world, thus ensuring that everyone in it can lead a fun and worthwhile life! It's like a form of enlightenment! So basically, people who have experienced something mysterious in the past, have experienced something mysterious recently, or who plan on a mysterious experience in the near future should come to the SOS Brigade for them be solved.

But besides that, we have ensure that people have fun! We have big plans for the coming months! It's Spring, and while we obviously won't get Golden Week, there's always time and need for another Hanami or for contests, attractions, fireworks once we get summer, the beach, the lake, you name it, we're on it! You should fully expect your life to be influenced by our might in the near future! I hope your bodies are ready for it!

So there you have it! And, like I said, we're accepting applications! So hurry up and speak up so that I, Haruhi Suzumiya, can process you and determine if you have the right stuff!

[Buuut, once that announcement is made in ther break time for school at about 10:30 AM (and thus replies might be later in the day) Haruhi has places to be. She's being low-key about it, but it is White Day, after all. So, during her lunch break at school she sets off- she had her Winry Day yesterday, but she owes Winry something in return. Thus, with a bag over her shoulder around 12:30PM she's made her way to Winry's house to knock.

From there, back to school, finishing it up, the Brigade meeting... and then loitering around town is her MO for the afternoon. She got chocolate for all of the guys in the Brigade (plus Neku and maybe some others) after all, and even she's not voicing it she expects things back from there. ...And Minato. And Keiichi. But she's not going to press the issue there because even she's not sure she wants them. But if you see her lurking around the square in the afternoon that's why.]

Oh! And I think you said something about a...a Hanna-Barbera? [ no she said hanami but points for at least trying? ] I'm not sure what Fred Flintsone has to do with anything but I can philosophically get behind the idea of fun. Really, I can.

Hanna- what? [she tries to run through what could possibly have been misheard as that but then decides with a defeated sort of sigh that this is completely beside the point of everything. She shakes her head]

...Yeah, sure, I'm sure you understand fun quite keenly.

[ so how self-defeating is it if you get your back up in a serious way over being called out on your fun comprehension? well, conversations with jack sparrow would suggest that the answer is very.

so she tries for cool and nonchalant. ] I'm young, I'm blonde. Those are like the two main ingredients in fun. All I'm missing is a metropolis.

And does this fun include instances of not killing things now and again? [Okay so that's rude but she swears that is what she hears out of this woman at least 90% of the time]

...Of course it does. I also -- bake cookies, with friends. No killing there. Or there's the times where I...[ no let's not go into the jack sparrow details as much as playing darts blindfolded and going swimming at night can be. ]

Skating. Everything's gone all melty now but...skating. I skated. All winter. That definitely ups my fun quotient.

[Okay, now she's taken aback a bit. The cookies are an excuse and it's obvious, but the other one. She blinks and-]

You ice skate?

Mmhm. [ aha. that smile is far more natural. ] And I love it. I'm no Michelle Kwan, but there is definite ice sports enthusiasm.

[ a slight shrug because actually some of this story is a little personal -- but luckily not in the uncomfortably unhappy way. ] Someone put together a little rink behind the barracks back around Christmas. You couldn't even tear me off that thing with a crowbar.

Huh, really? [...Wait isn't she from California? Isn't Cali warm like all the time? Well, Buffy's been here long enough. She decides not to press the matter and instead just shake her head lightly]

I didn't even know that. Sheesh.

[ indoor rinks are beautiful, electricity sucking things. also angel knows when they're closed on tuesday nights. :< ]

It wasn't announced or anything...[ actually she's probably happy about that. ]

Well duh. With my sources if anyone so much as mentioned it I'd know. I meant that none of my team found it. [Or didn't mention it to her? One of those two]

...You have them keeping tabs on things like spontaneous ice rinks?

[ b-but it was her christmas present she didn't want to share anyway! though -- really -- she would have gotten over it and been glad to have others to skate with, more likely. ]

[...But at the same time, she's realizing belately that the time Buffy is mentioning - Christmas time - she wasn't here. It shows with a shadow on hee face. But she presses on with bravado.]

Y-yeah, I know. I've been around this block for a while -- remember? There's only so many connections you make without running into other people's connections. It's all very two degrees of separation.

[ hypocrite alert! buffy has her very own possessive language for her crack team. ]

[She said like this was the most natural thing in the world.

[ it's a weird conversation she's been having with sparrow, too -- over him saying things like your bones. ]

They work under my rule. I'm the chief, the leader. So they're mine.

[Now with a flat tone working into a little glare]

[ let's try and break this chill with some good old fashioned sunnydale fail!humour. ]

...Are you sure about that no vile schemes thing you said earlier? 'Cause this is definite wiggins territory.

You're a super hero, right? If I was working with a vile scheme you'd be in a vat of acid or something by now, right?

[She said blandly with a hint of annoyance]

Oh, but I know I'm small potatoes in comparison to some of the other spandex-tights around here. I bet your evil scheme is way more interested in taking them out -- instead, in this scenario I would be the dark horse.

[ god please don't mistake her for being serious. ]

[ buffy knows next to nothing about adell so this just gets a look of confusion. ]
