5th: The Contamination of Haruhi Suzumiya

So everyone, Valentines is supposed to be about love and stuff, right? But have you ever thought what's up with that Saint Valentine guy who originated the holiday?! Given that it's still popular today, is he just some famous dead guy, or is he now a ghost, trying to appeal to everyone's mind and manipulate them?! Wouldn't that explain how it's popular in both Japan and the West?

Bearing that in mind, even if this holiday is kinda stupid, it's still important to adhere to certain traditions in hopes of seeing any possible Valentines spirits. Because of that, I've gotten chocolate for some of you.

[...Namely all of the guys in the Brigade and grudgingly Minato. She considered some others, like Neku or Sokka, but decided against it. She also considered Winry but she's not sure if that's too weird or not. That said, delivering them? No, she's carrying them around in her bag in case she runs into people for other reasons and failing that going to put what's left in a basket at the HQ after she's done.]

More importantly-! A bunch of you have heard about the beach, right?! And you're all psyched to go there this summer?! Well, brought to you by our SOS-Brigade's genius scientist, Leon [this next part is muttered quickly and might not be heard:] andsomehelpfromSokka we're bringing you the all-new Beach Teleportation System! You know how the ones for the Hot Springs work, right?! Same thing here! The village-end for the teleporter is located in the barracks, and the other end is way off, so we can have easy access once it warms up!

All in a day's work for the SOS-Brigade!

Of course it's good! I mean look at this- the air, the breeze... give it summer, it'll be zesty and perfect for a beach run, but for right now... I guess it's a little-

[She pauses here, itching the back of her head and turning away from them, because she suddenly feels awkward in spite of herself]

Romantic, I guess?

I never said it wasn't good. But as you said, there's more to this world and to any world. The world has thousand of things, but by looking at all those things in the distance it's easy to forget what's right besides you.

[Ambitions. To see more of the world, to climb higher in society, to have a more luxurious lifestyle. What's wrong with the ambitions that are kept at a small village, something as simple as "I want to spend the rest of my life right where I am and the same way I am now"?

He smiles at Haruhi's idea.]

I think that's a good guess. And the picnic will just make it better.

[Talking about which, he will be looking for a good spot for it now, thanks.]

[...romantic, huh. He shouldn't be surprised by Haruhi's suggestion. That was part of the reason he'd helped Keiichi cook, so that he could win Haruhi over (if that's what he actually wanted.) Though seeing the two smiling at each other now....

Pushing that aside, he heads over to a small dune that shelters against the wind a little. It'll block the view of the sea some, but they don't want everything to blow away, or the fire to go out if they actually make one.] Here?

This looks like a good spot, yeah. Wind-breaking.

[As she races on over there, her tongue hanging out a little as she licks her lips. Hunger, eager? She's not really sure herself, but. Oh well]

[You can come to realize that. But people tend to ignore that, instead they either focus on what's far beyond or fall in despair over how insignificant they are and then focus on trying to be important, big and special. Without noticing that one can be special enough without having their name in big letters or great achievements known by everyone.

The spot is perfect and Keiichi starts to set the picnic up.]

I've never done a picnic on the beach before, so for me this place looks just as perfect.

Are you hungry, Haru-chan?

[Do you want to eat already or do something else first?]

[The picnic food is mostly simple things - thermoses of tea, fruit and riceballs, because Keiichi could actually make those edible, but Minato added some teriyaki chicken and other finger food snacks. There's dessert too, but that's in the bottom layer of the basket. And none of it is poisonous. Minato helps Keiichi to unpack while he waits for Haruhi's answer.]

Well... not particularly, actually. [...there's another awkward pause here before she shifts. She does enter a sitting position either way, but then rummages in her bag. What do do, what to do. Well.

Her hands touch something and she shifts again.]

[and then she pulls a (very small, only like two in here) box of homemade chocolate out of her bag and without a word shoves it in Minato's face]

[Well, even if she's not hungry Keiichi hopes that she will at least try his riceballs, not that he doubts Minato's taste -or his own, he's the first one to admit that he can't cook much because he has tried it on his own stomach-, but it would be nice to see her liking them as well.

And suddenly she's shoving a box in Minato's face. It doesn't take a genius to figure that there's chocolate there. Keiichi just blinks and stares with a blank expression. Well, even he gave Minato some chocolate, who wouldn't want to give him some after all? So it's a natural sight. Something to be expected.

Now, Minato wouldn't be stupid enough to reject chocolate given by Haruhi, right? Because that would only annoy Keiichi even more.]

[He just stares at the box of chocolates under his nose for a minute before reaching up to take them. What's with there being only two in here.... Actually more to the point, what's with her giving chocolates to him and not Keiichi? And home-made, at that]

...Thank you. [but he can't help but look over at Keiichi as well. Is she really this upset with him?]

...Whatever. [But there isn't a clarification of this being obligatory or anything because, well, she doesn't think to do that in said addled state. she hangs her head, flustered, for a while and then-]

[She turns her head and points up at Keiichi]

I left yours in the Brigade room. [Meaning, you know, you should have been there earlier today or something but you can go get them later. Or something. Or she can give you a replacement if you continue to be a sick puppy]

[He should have gone to the meeting. Except that she knew they would be meeting sooner or later, yet chose to left it there?]

Is that so? I'll keep it in mind for later.

[He doesn't believe there's any chocolate waiting for him at the Brigade room, Haruhi's angry with him so it makes sense on every level. It doesn't matter anyway. It doesn't matter at all so he keeps preparing the picnic and once he's done he smiles as if nothing was wrong. Because nothing is wrong.]

Yosh, I think we're settled now. Don't worry, Haru-chan, nothing is poisonous.

[Minato looks back and forth between you two failures during this exchange. Then he takes one of those two chocolates from the box and holds it out to Keiichi.]

Here.

[...Sharing her chocolate? It doesn't bug her, but this does perplex her. She itches her nose a little awkwardly, watching Keiichi for his reaction because, well. What else can she do]

[What the hell are you doing, Minato. Sharing the chocolate a girl just gave you is no good and it's not as if it fixes anything. Not that there's anything to be fixed, mind you. Keiichi blinks and stares for a moment before he smiles again.]

Minato, it's not good to share a girl's chocolate in front of her like that. The only worse thing is to use it to give it to another person as your own, don't be silly.

[Didn't you hear anyway? He has his waiting at the Brigade room. Even if such a chocolate exists it's clear it will be something like he getting some because he's a member of the Brigade, nothing else. Just another one of the members, that's all. Maybe he should have left Minato and Haruhi come alone?]

[Minato's eyes narrow a bit. He can read the jilted look on your face, Keiichi. Haruhi obviously isn't protesting the gifting, so Minato makes a decision - with one swift movement he shoves the chocolate into Keiichi's mouth.]

Just eat it. [His finger brushes against Keiichi's tongue as the candy slips deeper inside.]

[o....h... this is so... gay...

But she's watching it, mesmerized. Somehow, it excites her a little]

[Minato, just because someone doesn't voice a protest doesn't mean they don't have any objection on the matter. Really, what's your problem? An awesome girl gives you chocolate all for yourself and you go and pretend another guy to eat part of it.

The discussion has ended pretty soon anyway. Because it's hard to talk when you have fingers in your mouth feeding you chocolate. There are other ways you know, like giving it to his hand or just pushing it to his mouth, no need to shove it all the way in. Not that he complains, but it's embarrassing, specially with Haruhi looking at them like that, though he doesn't really notice it.

Whatever, he'll eat the chocolate since you're so interested on it. And lick clean those fingers from any chocolate trace since he's on it.]

[Well that is unexpected and a little weird, but oddly enough it's actually pleasant. Minato realizes after a moment that he's probably lingered too long and removes his hand. But he's not embarrassed, even with Haruhi watching. In fact he takes the remaining chocolate with the same fingers and pops it in his own mouth like it's the most natural thing to do.]

[~~/WIPES DROOL~~ No she just... stares intently at them. Intently. And she wants more of this - watching that foreplay bullshit got her juiced and now she's left with an unsatisfying lull. In fact, so much so that she's going to demand-]

Why don't you guys just kiss?

[Yeah, those fingers may have lingered there a bit more than necessary but you won't hear him complaining. And it's your fault for shoving it like that in his mouth, haha. At least being on the beach you have enough water to wash that hand... Only Minato doesn't do that but uses it to eat the other chocolate.

You know, Keiichi's pretty sure that never before has been so mesmerizing to see someone eat a chocolate so casually. Not that he can think much more because then there comes the unsatisfied Haruhi -as if she's the only one like that-, telling them to just kiss.]

Wh-Wah?!

[Yeah, no coherent noise here, just a -very manly- squeak and his face going to a bright red color.]

[Minato doesn't turn red at all - his reaction is a small frown. He hadn't seen the act as particularly arousing - nice, yes, but Keiichi is a guy and his friend. But Haruhi's reaction is interesting. His expression quickly turns thoughtful, and then calculating.]

Only if you kiss us, too.

[He's emboldened by this good feeling and if she asks them for a favor, she should give them favors in return, right?]

Wha-what the hell-!

[She splutters a moment, her face dissolving into a blush and then a little pout. But-! But-! She looks between the two and then... But! She wants to see them make out...!

But then a plan grows in her head]
